College-wide engagement in outreach provides opportunities for faculty in practical applications of research; applied research venues; access to professionals, practitioners, audiences, and locations that can inform research; and enriches on-campus teaching and connections with external collaborators eager to engage our students in field experiences. Cross-disciplinary issues are addressed in each of the departments, divisions, and centers. DNS programs focus on healthy eating and active living to support obesity prevention efforts, and online continuing education for nutrition and health professionals. FS&AD helps reduce human exposure to pesticides through personal protective equipment; the youth program develops and implements textile-related programs for youth. HD programs support quality of care for children and older people, strive to reduce risky behaviors in youth, teach scientific thinking among young people, and provide continuing education for youth workers and practitioners. PAM formulatiaon, implementation, and management of policies and programs contribute to the well-being of citizens by applying knowledge to address social and economic challenges in communities. |
