The New York State Data Center (NYSDC), New York’s primary repository of economic and demographic data, operates through about 50 state, local, and university coordinating and affiliate organizations around the state. Many of these affiliates are excellent sources of information about their local areas.

The State Data Center Program is a "cooperative program between the states and the Census Bureau created ... to make data available locally to the public through a network of state agencies, universities, libraries, and regional and local governments.

The Federal-State Cooperative Program on Population Estimates  (FSCPE) is represented in NYS by PAD as one of the "state FSCPE agencies, designated by their respective governors, to work in cooperation with the Population Estimates Branch to produce subnational population estimates".

The Cornell Institute for Social and Economic Research (CISER) provides "research support services to social science researchers at Cornell University. Programs are tailored to the needs of faculty, research staff, and graduate students".

The New York Census Research Data Center at Cornell (NYCRDC), housed within the Cornell Institute for Social and Economic Research, provides "...academic researchers access to selected Census confidential microdata in physically secure facilities... Access follows approval of research projects benefiting both the scientific community and the US Census Bureau".
