The Program on Applied Demographics brings skills in demographics, economics, statistics, data gathering and data analysis together to provide a variety of organizations with data, information and advice. PAD works closely with the New York State Department of Economic Development, the U.S. Census Bureau and other organizations to assist them in their activities. Examples of PAD’s activities can be found here.

PAD is part of the Bronfenbrenner Life Course Center, a department within the College of Human Ecology at Cornell University.

Cornell University is part of the network of Census Research Data Centers (CRDC). A Census Research Data Center houses confidential microdata from a variety of sources which can be an invaluable resource to help understand various demographic processes. PAD staff has a special sworn status that grants access to CRDC data needed for approved projects.
