Research drives every pursuit within the College of Human Ecology. Here students not only consume knowledge, they participate in its creation by participating in new and ongoing projects. For students who plan to attend graduate school, undergraduate research provides an opportunity to test their interests. Even students who plan careers outside academe benefit from understanding how knowledge is generated and developing the skills needed to work on teams, analyze data and communicate results.  Approximately, 500 students participate in research each year, earning credit or pay for their work and gaining valuable academic experience.

See Tips for Finding a Project for strategies about how to identify a project that will meet your needs.

All students pursuing honors programs participate in undergraduate research. Until you have tried research and know that it is working for you, you can’t be sure that you will want to pursue an honors project.
